About the role
We are currently seeking an experienced Business Development Support Officer Farm Insurance to join our growing team in the Sydney office. The role is required to assist the Regional Manager and the regions Risk Specialists to grow a portfolio of rural clients and develop new business opportunities while maintaining highly satisfied clients.
Main responsibilities of the role
Support the Risk Specialists and Regional Manager with new business development
Help to determine the clients present and future needs, proposing suitable products, services and/or solutions in order to enhance client satisfaction and grow revenue for the organisation
Assist in promoting the organisations products and services to all identified targets in a selected area including current and new clients
Support the regional team to organise local events and marketing activities in consultation with the Achmea marketing team
Research and maintain awareness of competitor activities, and report back to the Risk Specialists to provide head office with valuable market insights as input for product development and enhancement
Perform risk analysis in conjunction with the Risk Specialist to assess client risk and mitigation
Ensure high client satisfaction at all times
Complete all new business quotes to support Risk Specialists on farm visits with clients
Assist with Winter Crop 1-300 quoting and client support
Liaise with the claims department on claims relating to the regional client base
Assist with payment collection for the commercial team
CRM support and monitoring for regional teams
Provide back-up to regional team during periods of absence
Handle various operational functions as required
Ad-hoc admin tasks
To be successful in this role
We are looking for exceptional people who want a career within the rural insurance industry. To be successful in this role you will have the following:
Tertiary qualifications in Agriculture and/or Finance (desirable)
Certificate III level of the Australian Qualifications Framework
1 3 years experience in the rural sector (preferably in the financial service industry)
Knowledge of the rural industry
Ability to develop knowledge of clients operations
Experience with farming or farming operations (highly regarded)
Excellent client focus and ability to develop long term relationships with a value add perspective
Willingness to learn and develop sales and marketing skills and meet targets
Ability to manage own work and competing priorities
Sound communications skills, both verbal and written
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to show empathy and affinity with the rural sector
