About the business and the role

Top Multiplier operates a large modern pig farm, near Eudunda, SA. This farm is owned by a Australian family with several sites in South Australia and over 50 years of history in the pig industry. The business supplies pork to a range of customers across Australia and is an industry leader.

We require an enthusiastic person with experience in building, repair or mechanical maintenance. 

Must have a current drivers license, be able to work unsupervised and work as part of a team with other staff. This is a hands on role requiring strong practical skills.

Job tasks and responsibilities

  • Daily farm maintenance or repair as required to buildings, machinery and equipment. This will include servicing and greasing tele-handlers, tractors, farm utes, augers/motors, generators and pressure washers within your level of experience.
  • Fault-finding.
  • Plan & complete scheduled maintenance.
  • Building, installation, welding, repairing concrete, pig sheds and utilities.
  • Transferring stock and clean out sheds using Tele-handlers and tractors.
  • Adhere to safe work practices
  • Co-ordinate with Farm Manager ordering supplies, work plans etc

Skills and experience

The successful applicant will need clear communication & have experience in a variety of practical trade environments. Attention to detail and being adaptable to re-prioritise is important. 

Specific Skills:

  • Mechanical repairs
  • Welding & Fabrication
  • Fault finding
  • General building & Maintenance
  • Understanding of Electrical and Hydraulics would be an advantage.

You will need to communicate well and be able to prioritise tasks. You will need to provide evidence of your experience and ability in some of the areas listed above.

Successful applicants will be required to pass drug and alcohol testing and have a medical test.
