The Contract Officer is responsible for the administration of supply categories in support of the Shared Services Strategic Plan, to ensure delivery of optimal supply arrangements to meet business requirements.
A key purpose of the role is to undertake sourcing activities to establish contracts that ensure the timely, quality and value for money procurement of goods and services at an acceptable level of risk. The successful candidate will also lead negotiations, implement and amend low value/low risk contracts, ensuring legal adequateness, commercial viability, appropriate risk mitigation and management, and supply continuity.
What you will need:
To be successful in this role, you will have strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills. Strong communications skills are a must.
Other criteria include:
- Diploma in Procurement or similar level of education in related discipline, and/or relevant specific demonstrated procurement category management experience;
- Member Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (MCIPS) (prepared or in the process of obtaining membership status);
- required to work outside normal working hours on occasions to meet key targets; and
- may be required to travel intra/interstate.
