About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and solutions driven Operations and Engineering specialist to join an organisation providing critical health care to Melbournes western suburbs. The Operations Manager will provide pivotal support to the organisation during a period of rapid change and the development of large-scale engineering projects, as well as:
- Contribute to the delivery of the Operational Plan requirements of the Department through efficient and effective utilisation of time, resources and equipment:
- Ensure the responsible use and management of resources and equipment to for the provision of a timely and efficient Engineering service
- Prepare capital and operational budgets for consumables, equipment and labour resources, and maintain costs within the established budgets.
- Lead innovation in the Department with the aim of building a sector leading Engineering and Communicationsservice.
Reporting to the Divisional Director Health Support Services the Operations Manager will have responsibility for a range of critical functions, including Biomedical Engineering, Facilities Management, Plant Management as well as a Communications team. The successful appointee will play a key role in managing a range of complex projects and initiatives across the organisation, leading a large cross functional team and engaging with key internal and external stakeholders.
In addition to the essential criteria outlined, the successful appointee will demonstrate a proactive, methodical approach to managing projects and unforeseen challenges and will have extensive stakeholder management and relationship building experience. There are a range of high profile, large scale projects ongoing or upcoming and the Operations Manager will need to hit the ground running in a fast paced, complex organisational environment
