Job Description

Based in North Sydney, we have a rewarding opportunity for a motivated individual to join our Office Services team as the Office Services Switchboard Operator in a permanent full time role.

You will act as the face of MLA on our switchboard and be the first point of contact for our callers. You will deliver a superior experience for callers by offering a welcoming introduction and guidance as well as quick connection to assist with inquiries.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Providing high level customer service; maintaining a friendly and informed public facing service to customers.
  • Answer all incoming calls providing information to the caller and quickly ascertaining where the call should be transferred.
  • Record and relay messages, providing appropriate detail for follow-up.
  • Work with all departments to improve services and lower response wait times.
  • Assisting in general administration, including updating and maintaining a contact directory.
  • Provide feedback to others in the company, using both quantitative data and personal experience, on the effectiveness of call handling.
  • Make suggestions to improve the experience of callers

 

Desired Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • 1 2 years experience with switchboards
  • Experience in reception, customer service and administration skills
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to prioritise in order to meet customer needs and deadlines
  • Strong communication skills verbal and written
  • Interpersonal skills, particularly the ability to proactively identify and satisfy customer and staff needs to maintain harmonious relationships
  • Microsoft Office including word and excel
  •  Can do attitude and happy to take on ad hoc tasks as required
