About the role
Okane has a new opportunity for a Senior Engineer to join our team. This position is full-time permanent based in Perth or Brisbane Australia. Responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to, the following:
Apply an advanced understanding of geological, geoengineering, environmental or engineering principles to assist in the delivery of new approaches to solve problems.
Prepare and review technical documentation and reports in area of technical discipline
Complete QA / QC checks on data captured by field monitoring systems or from laboratory testing programs.
Supervise staff and / or complete QA / QC checks on data captured by field monitoring systems.
Supervise the development of conceptual models in support of mine waste storage facility closure plan development, Failure Mode and Effects Analyses.
Supervise the simulation of geochemical, hydrologic and hydrogeologic conditions for a given model domain developed through robust conceptual model analysis.
Demonstrate care about the wellbeing of yourself and others, through actively participating in OHS activities/requirements.
Foster and maintain client relationships.
Interact competently with internal and external stakeholders of varying levels of expertise.
Primary Client Communication: Foster existing client relationships through proactive communication and identification of opportunities, project issues etc.
Skills and experience
Candidates will ideally possess the following key qualifications, experience, skills, and qualities:
Experience in landform design, hydrology, geomorphology, visualisation or Civil 3D considered an asset.
7+ years' experience in a similar position.
Mining or consulting background is considered an asset (but is not required).
Bachelor of Engineering (Environmental or Geomorphological).
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Apply technical knowledge at a competent level.
Strong skills in the areas of time management, planning and organising.
Demonstrate an ability to competently use their initiative to resolve tasks or problems that arise.
Ability and willingness to work with staff in different timezones.
