We are currently looking for a hands on Grounds and Maintenance officer to join Stockland and work across 2 x of our retirement villages Stockland Willowdale located at Denham Court in Sydneys thriving south west and Stockland Waratah Highlands located at Bargo.
As our friendly onsite Grounds and Maintenance Officer, you will be kept on your feet assisting across a variety of predominantly gardening related tasks, along with some maintenance tasks, ensuring the continued comfort, safety and happiness of our village residents. The role would involve working 3 x days at Willowdale and 2 x days at our Waratah Highlands Village.
This role is Monday Friday. There is no weekend work required.
Your tasks will include:
Managing the everyday maintenance and presentation of the village
Managing lawns, hedging and irrigation system (the whole village is irrigated)
Propagate and prune plants
Mulch garden beds according to best practice as required
Ensuring all communal areas are tidy and well-maintained
Building and maintaining strong relationships with residents and their families, through the delivery of outstanding service
Identifying and reporting any hazards or safety issues
Assisting with ad hoc projects as required
You will be reliable and personable and will make a positive difference to our residents
Ability to work unsupervised and independently
Strong gardening experience
Have come from a background where you had to look after a facility with high standards such as a retirement village or golf club
Ability to prioritise work schedules
Ability to show initiative, discretion and judgement in carrying out assigned duties
