Reporting to the Supervisor: Financial Accounting, This role is responsible for providing support to the Financial Controller and Supervisor: Financial accounting in managing the stewardship duties of the system accounting function for Sydney Catholic Schools.
The Assistant Accountant will be responsible for but not limited to:
Reconciliations of all Central Office bank reconciliations on a monthly basis for review by Senior accountant which includes: posting journals, follow up unposted entries, intra bank transfers
Close off and reconcile central office AR ledger to sub ledger monthly
Recording term deposits, calculating interest to accrue and reconcile to GL
Update and reconcile prepayment and accrual schedule
Update and reconcile grants in advance to GL
Ad-hoc tasks as requested
To be considered for this role, you will have the following experience, skills and knowledge:
Formal Qualifications in Business and/or Management or other relevant qualification.
CPA qualified or working towards becoming CPA qualified or other equivalent.
1-2 years financial experience in a broad based accounts support role.
Formal qualifications in Business and/or Management.
Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information.
Experience in customer service and liaising with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Possess good knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Valid Working with Children Check clearance
Willingness to respect, support and uphold the mission, ethos and teachings of the Catholic Church and the values of Sydney Catholic Schools
Working with Children Check This role is classified as a child-related work endeavour and therefore we require a working with children clearance to be completed prior to your commencement with us.
