Gurriny Yealamucka Health Service Aboriginal Corporation (GYHSAC) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service (ACCHS).

                                       THE COMMUNITY

Yarrabah community lies to the east of Cairns.  It is 60 kilometres from the Cairns CBD and takes 45 minutes to travel by car from the Cairns CBD to the Yarrabah community.  Yarrabah is Australia's largest remote community 

                                           THE ROLE

The Executive Assistant (EA) provides a high level of professional administrative support to the Chief

Executive Officer (CEO) to ensure excellence in customer experience and service delivery across the Organisation. The position analyses and collates information in order to provide executive support to the CEO. The position will liaise with internal and external stakeholders including Senior Management, local Organisations,Yarrabah Council, Government Officials and members of the public. 

The EA ensures the CEO is prepared and informed on relevant matters in a timely manner. This includes researching, preparing and ensuring responses to telephone calls and correspondence are responded to within specified timeframes and proactively managing the CEOs diary. In providing this support the position exercises a high degree of communication competence, initiative, discretion and confidentiality. 

As an ongoing commitment to the organisation you will be responsible for delivering the best service to our community, our stakeholders, relevant Government Officials and members of the public.

The position provides personalised secretarial and administrative support to the Chief Executive and at times to the Senior Executive Team in a well-organized and timely manner.  You will work on a one to-one basis on a variety of tasks related to the Chief Executives working life and communications.
