Maintenance Technician

About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for undertaking and maintaining all required Hospital maintenance duties and ensuring services comply with legislative standards, corporate policy guidelines and approved Hospital budgets.

This is a permanent Part-Time opportunity with 60 hours per fortnight available.

This role will also see you direct and manage the work of maintenance contractors, participate in an afterhours on call service and ensure all maintenance duties and responsibilities are kept up to date.

Working independently, you will report to and perform duties as requested by the Commercial Manager and Maintenance Manager.  

About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide exceptional customer service to all customers, staff and stakeholders.  Your effective problem solving, organisational and time management skills will be critical for this role.  Sound computer skills and attention to detail are also highly desirable.

You will also bring:

  • Relevant Trades qualification
  • Proven experience in commercial facility maintenance
  • The ability and willingness to confidently work across various trade areas at a basic skill level
  • Proven experience in external contractor management
  • An interest and desire to assist people and the ability to work co-operatively with others
  • Sound level of computer literacy skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised and prioritise tasks effectively
  • Experience in and ongoing commitment to Quality Improvement principles


  • Experience in previous hospital maintenance role
