Furniture Maker Solid Timber

INTO Woodworks is a local Brisbane company manufacturing custom-made, Australian timber furniture.  We have a passion for creating furniture using Australian timber and old-school woodcraft techniques.

We are looking for a furniture maker who shares our same values to commence work with our team in Hemmant.  As we are going through a period of growth, this position would suit somebody flexible to work part-time to full-time hours as required.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Min 1-3 years post apprenticeship or equivalent employment experience 
  • Highly motivated, able to work unsupervised and excellent time management skills
  • Positive attitude, reliable and well-presented
  • Experience working with solid timber (not kit packs)
  • A passion for building in timber with quality workmanship and pride
  • Knowledge about timber species, their characteristics and suitable finishes 
  • Liaison skills to discuss ideas, give advice and steer clients in the right direction to create their unique piece of furniture
  • Someone who enjoys working on projects with details that can sometimes be fluid and developed as the project progresses 
  • Must have a drivers licence and reliable car
  • Someone who can adhere to and respect the importance of OH&S management systems and workshop rules
  • Looked upon favourably, but not essential forklift ticket and experience with resin work

We offer a safe work environment with a team focused on producing high quality work.  We are not a production line you will work on your own project as well as have to assist each other with projects.
