Rombola Family Farms is seeking a passionate and driven Category Manager to join our team. Responsible for coordinating all elements of the seedless & pumpkin supply chains, from the point of harvest to order fulfilment, the Category Manager is in the centre of the day to day action of what is a progressive and vibrant business.

Rombola Family Farms encompasses over 4,600 hectares of horticultural production at Griffith (NSW) and Mataranka in the Northern Territory.  Agricultural enterprises include almonds, wine grapes, citrus, seedless watermelon, rockmelons, broccoli, and pumpkin.  Operations include primary production, processing, value-adding and marketing.  This is a large and intense fresh food enterprise which requires a manager that is motivated, hands-on and able to work under pressure.  

Key operational accountabilities include:

  • Liaise daily with the growers and harvest management to forecast fruit availability and quality in the short (2-3 days), medium (7 days) and long term (2-4 weeks).
  • Liaise daily with retail, wholesale, export and processor customers to gather qualitative and quantitative market intelligence.
  • Set prices and allocate inventory by the customer in order to achieve product flow (supply and demand balance) and implement the agreed sales plan in the short, medium and long term.
  • Liaise with the production team to prioritise and plan daily and weekly packing schedules.
  • Liaise with the logistics function daily to plan the transportation of seedless & pumpkin from the companys farms to our 3PL service providers and the companys customers.
  • Manage pricing confirmations, quality claims and payment days by customer.
  • Develop & manage effective working relationships with the businesses retail, wholesale, export and processor customers.
  • Contribute to seasonal demand forecasting and planting schedule design discussions with the production and sales chain teams.

  • Flexibility to travel interstate.
