Sales and Business Development

Part time - 32 hours per week 

Fixed Term contract until December 31st 2020 

The Organisation:

Sutherland Shire Family Services (SSFS) aims to support and strengthen the capacity of families within our community by providing programs and services which are designed to contribute to the promotion and maintenance of safety and wellbeing to all family members.

The Program:

Toolbox Talks - Domestic Violence Awareness,  delivers a range of domestic and family violence training programs across Australia in either face-to-face or online forums. Sessions are designed to educate participants around the types and indicators of violence and the social factors that support violence against women and children and to motivate bystander intervention and support primary prevention efforts. Programs are delivered to groups across a range of industries such as construction, maritime, transport, mining, retail and hospitality.

The Role:

The Toolbox Talks team (Sutherland Shire Family Services) is seeking an energetic and outcomes driven, sales and business development minded individual to join the team. In this role you will be responsible for supporting SSFS Toolbox Talks program to meet and exceed targets through collective expertise, innovation and professional relations in order to acquire new clients to a domestic and family violence prevention and response program, as well as, maintaining an existing customer base and establishing ongoing bookings.

You will drive business sales in the fields of construction, maritime, transport, mining, retail and hospitality. Working closely with the Project Manager and Marketing Manager, to enhance campaign reach within the targeted fields. To fulfil this role successfully you will need to have a positive and driven personality, a focus on team cohesion and an appetite for organisational growth. 

Essential Knowledge and Skills

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience, such as; business, marketing, sales or relevant field.  
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a business development manager, sales executive or a relevant role with evidence of sales success and ability to work to specific KPI targets;
  • Proven ability to drive revenue generation through sales and business development
  • Excellent administration skills and proficiency with word and excel as well as client data bases;
  • Outstanding time management and organisational skills;
  • Ability to build strong relationships among clients and stakeholders
  • Ability to prioritise and multitask to achieve results.
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing.
  • A team player who enjoys working within a high performing team that delivers on key accountabilities.
  • Proven ability to identify, develop and convert business opportunities.
  • Demonstrated success with influencing and negotiating with senior stakeholders.
  • Current Working with children check and National Police Check.
  • Current NSW drivers licence


  • Knowledge of domestic and family violence
  • Sales experience within a key industry focus area: construction, maritime, transport, mining, retail and hospitality
  • Immediate start
