Wounds Australia is the peak body for wound prevention and management in Australia.

We exist to reduce the harm caused by wounds. We do this by providing our members with access to information, events, and resources that support their continuous education.

We also work with governments and industry organisations to improve access to appropriate wound management, knowledge, and resources.

The opportunity

As the General Manager, reporting directly to the CEO, you will play a key role in collaborating with all levels of management in implementing, monitoring business development, event coordination, policy development, and partnership development.  This includes ensuring collaboration between Wounds Australia State Branch Committees particularly in carrying out organisational improvement initiatives and risk management processes.

Your leadership skills will allow you to thrive in a constantly evolving environment to manage a high performing team.

Key duties:

  • As a member of the Team, participate fully in the collective responsibility of delivering on organisational objectives, through engagement and collaborative effort with employees at all levels in the organisation.
  • Collaborate with Wounds Australia Stakeholders to promote and achieve organisational cohesion, the development of a culture of continuous improvement, and the promotion and adherence of organisational values.
  • Provide regular updates to the CEO, and the team on organisational activities.
  • Participate in relevant Committees, as directed by the CEO.
  • Proofreading organisations written materials ensuring the documentation is suitable and acceptable for the purpose.
  • Manage Wounds Australia projects ensuring project objectives are delivered.
  • Coordinate Wounds Australia educational events.
  • Support CEO to develop Wounds Australias businesses ensuring the financial stability of the organisation.
  • Engage with Wounds Australia Corporate Partners by creating and maintaining a positive organisational culture.
  • Support CEO to develop Wounds Australias Membership and continuous improvement of the membership base.
  • Effectively manage change management processes, encouraging innovation, diversity, and continuous improvement.

What you will need to have to be successful:

  • Possession of extensive experience in not-for-profit/ business or other area-specific to the functions held in the Corporate Services.
  • Substantial experience and record of achievements at a management level in the not-for-profit sector, and significant experience in managing and leading employees.
  • Previous experience and success in the delivery of projects, to assist in the achievement of organisational strategic goals.
  • Demonstrated business expertise and ability to lead significant change.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for change and lead improvement initiatives.
  • Highly developed communication skills, both written and verbal, including an ability to prepare high-level reports to external parties.
  • An ability to manage a multitude of complex tasks and projects simultaneously.
