About the position 

  1. The role includes all day to day work involved in the running of the enterprise, including: 
  2. livestock handling, 
  3. machinery operation and maintenance, 
  4. pasture management, 
  5. weed control, 
  6. opportunity cropping, and 
  7. fencing.

  2. The position reports to the owner and would involve working autonomously and with minimal supervision. 
  3. The position is F/T but there is the possibility of flexible or P/T work arrangements for the right candidate.

  7. The successful applicant will be offered an attractive hourly rate for the initial 3-month trial period then moving onto a negotiated salaried position. 

 

About you 

  1. Have a minimum of 5 years experience covering all aspects of sheep farming and general farm duties (including all aspects of animal husbandry - stock movements, drafting, weighing, selecting lambs for sale/slaughter, supplementary feeding, drenching, animal health treatments). 
  2. Competent in basic machinery operations, 
  3. Can work alone or in a team. 
  4. A self-starter who can problem solve on the go. 
  5. Have a good work ethic and always see tasks through to completion. 
  6. Can take responsibility for animal husbandry duties seriously. 
  7. A car licence (required), a truck licence (advantageous). 
  8. Are willing to follow WH&S requirements. 
  9. Have experience with basic record keeping (e.g. stock numbers/movements, receipts etc).
