Based in North Sydney, we are seeking a dedicated Assistant Accountant to join our dynamic finance team.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play an important role with providing assistance to a wide range of accounting functions including daily banking reconciliations, preparing journal and completing month-end processes.
The key components of the role include:
Process bank, payroll, month end and other miscellaneous journals
Complete monthly general ledger reconciliations and resolve all outstanding queries in a timely manner
Ensure that all fixed asset movements are recorded correctly
Undertake and manage stock take of Fixed Assets
Reconcile various fixed assets control and GL accounts
SME for fixed assets
Upload bank statements into SAP on a daily basis
Reconcile main bank account on a daily basis
Reconcile all other bank accounts weekly/monthly
Raise USD, JPY and EUR bank statement transactions into SAP
Communicate with the bank on transactional matters
Prepare weekly cash flow
SME for cash management
Desired Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will have:
Bachelors degree in Accounting
Minimum 3+ years experience as an Assistant Accountant within a medium to large organisation
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment
Strong problem solving skills
Experience in performing bank and other reconciliations
Experience in the maintenance of a fixed asset register
Ability to meet deadlines
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Previous experience with SAP
Microsoft Office with advanced excel skills
Knowledge of foreign exchange transactions
