Experienced Book Keeper/Accounts Officer

A dynamic, progressive and rapidly growing commercial glass company located in Tullamarine is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper/Accounts Officer to join its team on a part-time basis (3 days a week) 

Experience: 

  • 5 years experience in a similar role
  • Xero certified or highly experienced in Xero accounting software. Must be able     to use Xero payroll functionality very proficiently.
  • Must have background in CHEOPS or similar program
  • Must be proficient in EXCEL SPREADSHEETS
  • Extremely efficient, organised 
  • Ability to meet deadlines. Must be diligent and accurate
  • Highly proficient and experienced in responsible accounts / bookkeeping positions
  • Effective organisational skills and the ability to multi-task
  • Strong analytical skills and intermediate / advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Previous experience in Construction Industry preferable 
  • A strong work ethic coupled with a high level of initiative and an extreme pride in your own work
  • Be self-motivated and flexible with the role
  • Has attention to detail and a proven ability to problem solve.

Tasks & responsibilities:

  • Bank reconciliations
  • Payroll
  • BAS/IAS preparation 
  • Accounts payable and receivable
  • P&L statements
  • Invoicing and billing
  • End of month management reporting and exception reporting
  • End of month reconciliations, analysis
  • Some cashflow forecasting and management experience.
  • A proactive, constant improvement mentality you should always be looking for more efficient or cost-effective solutions/or seeing ways things can be done better.
  • Admin and accounts experience in a small business environment
