The Act-Belong-Commit Campaign is funded by Healthway and the Mental Health Commission, and is a community-based health promotion campaign which encourages people to take action to improve their mental health and wellbeing.  Mentally Healthy WA uses a community-based social marketing model to build population mental health in Western Australia. Your new role
We are seeking an experienced Marketing Officer to coordinate the development and implementation of the Act-Belong-Commit campaign’s marketing strategy as well as coordinate the management of media and public relations activities and state-wide advocacy activities and events.
This role will be based at our Bentley campus on a flexible part time basis of 22.5 hours per week. Work with a dynamic and close knit team on a successful campaign which is highly recognised internationally.
In this role you will:  

  • Implement marketing and communication campaigns, including; advertising, publications and digital communications.
  • Update social media channels, the campaign website and drive opportunities for media coverage, promotion and fundraising.
  • Assist and coordinate Healthway sponsorships in collaboration with the Mentally Healthy WA team.
  • Assist with sourcing and developing fundraising opportunities.
  • Coordinate and attend community displays at events.
  • Develop and maintain an up to date database of media and industry publication contacts.
  • Develop media campaigns including media releases and media liaison in conjunction with the Campaign Manager and Curtin Corporate Relations team.

You will bring to the role:

  • A relevant degree in communications, public relations, marketing or related discipline and relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Proven experience in supporting the implementation of communication and marketing strategies, including hands on experience in website maintenance.  
  • Exceptional writing skills with the ability to design, write and edit marketing material and reports.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage with people at all levels in a credible way.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively develop and build stakeholder relationships.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and maintain control of multiple tasks in order to ensure delivery of desired outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to think innovatively in the development of engagement activities which will support the programs goals with creative ideas.
  • Experience using software such as website CMS, Adobe illustrator and InDesign and social media management tools to implement campaigns.
  • Knowledge of the Act-Belong Commit campaign or Mental Health programs is desirable.
