ABOUT THE POSITION

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor and Mechanical Supervisor, the Mechanical Fitter is an integral part of KRSPs field operations team. You will undertake cyclic servicing and maintenance of power, water and waste water plant and equipment which provide essential services to remote Aboriginal communities.
Key responsibilities of the role:
- Provide trade services in mechanical repair, maintenance and capital works
- Recommend initiatives to enhance efficiency and equipment reliability
- Participate in fault finding and failure diagnosis as required
- Attend to emergency breakdown repairs
- Identify and report preventative maintenance and non-compliance items
- Complete necessary electronic and manual documentation
- Support and encourage the participation of KRSP Aboriginal Essential Service Officers in their activities
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated mechanical fitter or diesel mechanic who has a proven track record of achieving results in a similar position, is comfortable working remotely and frequently in isolation. Your ability to demonstrate a high work ethic, integrity and safe work practices together with your positive mindset in dealing with work and people will be highly regarded.
You will possess a mechanical trade certificate, current C class drivers licence, white card and first aid qualifications. Experience with chlorine handling, working in confined space and working at heights would be an advantage.
Fly In / Fly Out rosters are offered for candidates located outside of the Kimberley region. Local Kimberley residents are also encouraged to apply as are candidates who are interested in relocating to the Broome region.
The role will operate on a Drive In / Drive out basis from Broome to remote Aboriginal Communities in the Kimberley. Accommodation is provided by the Company when travelling for work purposes
This is a permanent full-time position. A competitive remuneration package will be offered to the successful candidate.
