Accounts Payable / IT Assistant

Are you an experienced accounts payable officer looking for a new challenge Well, look no further.

This business is an Australian family owned company with in the construction industry. They have been in operations for over 15 years experiencing steady growth over the years. Currently going through a busy period, they are looking to expand their finance team and they are seeking an A/P officer with some IT knowledge/background. This is not your typical Accounts Payable role. You will be the go-to person for any basic internal IT queries. This position would suit someone who has a passion for both Accounting and IT. There is an external IT firm who are reachable for any major issues. Reporting to the Financial Controller, your duties will include:

 

 Duties include: 

  • Processing a high volume of invoices per month

  • Checking invoices against purchase orders

  • Following up on outstanding receipts

  • Reconcile charges and accounts on MYOB and excel

  • Process and reimburse employee expenses

  • Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers and ensuring data is maintained on the system

  • Preparation and processing of month end reports

  • Maintain fixed asset register, logs, insurances and office equipment

  • General support and assistance to reception and admin staff when required

  • Provide backup to payroll, accounts receivable and the entire finance team

  • Trouble shoot and solve in-house IT issues and solve where possible

  • Liaise with the external IT provider to order and set up new computers and address any major issues

  • Continuous process and systems improvement

  • Other duties as requested by management

 

As the right person for the role you;

  • Must have a solid background in accounting processes specifically trade payables

  • Hold a qualification in finance or IT (desirable not essential)

  • Are an excellent communicator with a professional telephone manner

  • Must have a key sense of accuracy and high attention to detail

  • Have the ability to build rapport with stakeholders on all levels

  • Have substantial knowledge of MYOB and advanced Excel skills

  • Are a team player and self-starter who can work with minimal supervision

  • Have a passion and understanding of IT and systems automation
