Bookkeeper / Office Administrator - Casual

Lummus Australia is a well-established trade business in Moree NSW, warehousing and selling spare parts for the Cotton Ginning and general Agriculture industries.

We are seeking a Casual Bookkeeper/Office Administrator for an immediate start. The suitable candidate will have proven previous experience in a similar role and show high attention to detail. This position requires that the candidate be willing to work individually, unsupervised or as part of a team.

 The role is a casual position working 3 days per week in our Moree warehouse/office and will require some flexibility.

 Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to (in no particular order):

  • Accounts Payable- processing invoices and payments to customers
  • Accounts Receivable- keeping track of payments and credits from customers
  • Assist in fortnightly payroll- will track timesheets for 2 employees, and work with out-sourced accounting firm to calculate and fund the payrolls
  • Reconciliation of bank accounts, PayPal, Petty Cash and Cards
  • Preparing for the lodgement of super guarantee, quarterly BAS and monthly PAYG
  • Providing regular financial reports, including sales reports
  • Providing information to external Accountant
  • Perform customer verifications
  • Set up new customer accounts
  • Maintenance of and cleaning up database/data entry
  • General admin duties and some PA work is involved
  • Assisting other team members as necessary with payroll or administrative related questions
  • Manage all office-related administrative functions
  • Answer phones, handle enquiries and liaise with customers when required
  • Employee will complete other related duties, as assigned.

 

The suitable candidate requirements are as follows:  

  • Australian citizen, with a good command of the English language (essential)
  • Proven management of bookkeeping and PA skills in Australia required.
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Commitment to delivering a high standard of work
  • Has attention to detail and the proven ability to problem solve
  • Must be able to sit at a computer for extended periods of time, and utilize general office equipment such as computer, phone, printer/scanner.

 The following will be regarded as advantageous but not required,

  • Proficient in ABM (Advanced Business Manager) software.
  • Accounting qualification or similar
