The business has developed a strong client base with consistent repeat works. They are looking to further develop their capabilities by expanding the service offering with new targeted segments. The active client relationships include both Government and Private Sector.
About the role
You will be responsible for managing and developing a team of experienced estimators where this role will provide you with professional challenges and growth opportunity's all whilst working with a hardworking, dynamic and dedicated team. The career progression offered in this role will see you moving towards a leadership role in 12-18 months where profit share will be available. This role is paying a market high base salary with the expectation that you will access the bonus scheme as part of the leadership team. You will be expected to work a five day week and the company has an emphasis on work-life balance so normally a 5pm finish.
You will be responsible for
Managing a team of estimators, planners, risk professionals while still being able to get into the detail and perform 1st principal estimating.
Client lead, continuing to develop client relationships with both new and existing customers.
Senior Peer Reviewer for major Infrastructure estimates and reports pending client submission.
Developing an effective team culture, with an ongoing effort to improve the quality of work and outputs.
Fostering a good working environment, engaging all team members to advance their skill sets and knowledge base.
Supporting and developing estimators at a detailed level
Identify commercial risks and advantages in the tendering process
Direct client interface role, representing the business
To be successful:
Lead / experienced Estimator or Manager with sound site construction delivery experience: (ie ex Project Manager / Construction Manager / Senior Engineer or similar as there is a high degree of constructability in the service offering to ensure their advice is robust.
Will still be expected to be hands-on while managing a small so 1st principles estimating experience is still required.
Strong working knowledge of Expert Estimation (2014 and Genesis) software
Must be able to lead a team of up to 5 estimators / direct reports
Must be able to manage concurrent project assignments ie multi-task and operate across concurrent Clients and deadlines
Must have detailed civil infrastructure experience with a proven background in transport infrastructure projects experience
Some previous onsite civil contractor delivery experience preferred.

The ideal candidate will have client networks and be highly regarded in Industry
Candidate should be comfortable with client interface, verbal and written communication.
Leadership roles in the business are expected to be client-facing.

Ideally a minimum of 10-15+ years 1st principles civil estimating experience
Formal civil engineering qualification preferred
