Transport for NSW is the lead agency of the NSW Transport cluster. Our role is to lead the development of a safe, efficient, integrated transport system that keeps people and goods moving, connects communities and shapes the future of our cities, centres and regions.

We are responsible for strategy, planning, policy, regulation, funding allocation and other non-service delivery functions for all modes of transport in NSW including road, rail, ferry, light rail, point to point, regional air, cycling and walking.
We focus on improving the customer experience and contract public and private operators to deliver customer-focused transport services on our behalf.

We also lead the procurement of transport infrastructure and oversee delivery through project delivery offices and industry delivery partners.

The opportunity

Right now, we have multiple temporary and full time opportunities for Road Workers to be a part of the Regional Maintenance team.

What you will be involved in:

As part of a collaborative and supportive team, youll contribute to building and maintaining vital roads in regional NSW. This includes various construction and maintenance tasks including applying road marking materials, sealing roads with bitumen as well as fixing signage, barriers, drainages, pavements and bridges. Road Workers are provided with thorough training and opportunities to develop professionally.

About you

This job is ideal for someone who lives and breathes safety, follows directions and cares about sticking to quality, safety and environment policies and procedures. You will need to have good communication skills and be able to work well in a team.

You are a practical thinker and a quick learner who enjoys being physically active performing outdoor manual tasks involving the use of hand tools and equipment. You hold a current motor vehicle drivers licence and are able to work outside normal working hours, with potential for travel and work in remote locations.

The salary for this position is Grade 1-3 ($1,104.59 - $ 1,163.99 per week) plus superannuation and leave loading.
