FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION MANAGER - Part Time

Magnus Kahl Seeds is a privately owned company operating throughout global markets, with offices and production activities in Australia and Europe. We are involved in the breeding, production and marketing of a range of quality onion and shallot seed varieties.

The Magnus Kahl Seeds team are seeking a fun, hands on and motivated person to join them in the finance and administration side of the business at the head office in Coburg North. 

Direct support and training will come from the Warehouse Manager (who has been responsible for your role in the past), as well as the company Finance Manager.      

The role involves the following key tasks:

  • Manage the newly set up Xero accounting package (previously we used Reckon)
  • Preparation of monthly financial reports 
  • Payroll 
  • Creditor and debtor management 
  • Bank Reconciliations
  • Month end journals
  • Inventory management with Warehouse Manager 
  • Maintain various company report files (eg. Cost data collection, cash flow, stock, sales process records etc)
  • Answering of phones, communication with customers & suppliers
  • Other administration tasks as required
  • Liaise with Tax accountant and ATO when required.
  • Export and Import documentation
  • Freight quotes and dispatch procedures  

To be successful in this position, you need to possess the following attributes and experience:

  • High level of experience with Xero accounting software. 
  • Work history in Management Accounting
  • A tertiary qualification in Accounting/administration/business finance or had suitable experience in the field. 
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to successfully organize and manage your time and tasks 
  • Computer literate in Word and Excel 
  • An eye for detail
