Your Impact

The Customer Service & Sales Officer handles the magazine subscriptions of our readers.  We value a helpful, friendly tone and quick processing of orders as these things help create the best possible experience for our customers.  If you are in another Customer Service role and know that you can do more, join us and learn about our magazines and the different community members they appeal to. This autonomous role sits in within our subscription marketing team and contributes directly to revenues in this area of the business.

The Work

You will work in four key areas:

  • End to end Customer Service on phone and email - Taking calls and/or calling back and responding to emails in a prompt manner is valued by both management and customers,
  • Updating the Company Subscription database -
  • Trouble-shooting - Efficiently handling queries about when subscriptions start, end or how many are left,
  • Upselling - When talking to a craft subscriber, telling them about the craft calendar and other products in the same group this is an important revenue-generating function,
  • General Administration Printing for dispatch, liaison with warehouse and other departments are all part of the role,

In this capacity you may become the friendly voice of our publications working to help customers get what they want.

Who you Are:

  • Have worked in Customer Service or Sales before, representing a diverse product catalogue,
  • Above all, a confident and friendly phone manner
  • Appreciative of the value of old fashioned, personal, phone-based customer service,
  • Have worked with Inventory software before,
  • Enjoy working autonomously but can easily fit in to a team, communicating with other departments such as Accounts, Warehouse and Marketing,
  • Good clear written communication,
  • Enjoy making a sale or upselling a customer, and enjoy giving feedback to management on the relative strength or weakness of various products and offers,
  • Exhibit a good work rate, working well under pressure of volume, and wrapping up the in-tray by the end of each day,
  • You are a responder, and know the value of communication,
  • Demonstrates initiative and enthusiasm when faced with challenges
