Landscape Project Manager 

A commercial landscaping business located at Seven Hills is looking to employ a Project Manager to expand the existing management team. This person must bring with them a unique approach, persistence, self-direction and above all an eagerness that complements and reflects the business. 

The position is responsible for the Contract Administration, co-ordination, planning, programing and budgeting of commercial landscape projects. An ability to read and interpret contracts is fundamental, as is the guidance of site staff in following the scope of works and contract requirements. A thorough working knowledge of OHS&R, Quality and Environmental Systems (Integrated Management Systems) is required. 

The successful candidate will have to demonstrate an ability for effective planning, organising and problem solving skills together with the ability to lead, motivate and influence others. Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) are essential for this role. 

The candidate must also demonstrate skills and initiative in controlling costs and improving productivity to deliver projects on time and within budget. Commercial acumen together with a demonstrated capacity to meet client requirements is fundamental. Proven diplomacy skills when solving complex or sensitive issues will be considered favourable to this position. 

Computer literacy, particularly experience working with industry related software and spread sheets is also essential. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Help develop and maintain key relationships with clients.
  • Ensure all site staff adhere to company policy and standards. 
  • Ensure that job profitability and budget management targets are met. 
  • Develop and implement site specific programmes.
  • Order and schedule equipment materials and labour for each project.
  • Ensure site staff are meeting all safety, quality and environmental requirements of our clients and the relevant legislation. 

Qualifications: 

  • A background in commercial landscaping.
  • Previous Project managing experience or senior site management experience. 
  • Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing staff groups and major projects or initiatives.
  • Knowledge of large commercial retaining wall construction. 
  • Excellent computer skills and proficient in excel, word and project.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
