Supply Chain Project Engineer

The opportunity

Responsibilities will include:

  • Understand current manufacturing and supply chain planning processes 
  • Analysing daily production performance of work centres across manufacturing plants and communicating issues to sales and operations team by forecasting potential supply issues to market
  • Analysis of current production processes and workforce utilization to design and implement SAP APO Production planning and scheduling systems to automate current labour intensive systems
  • Design and implement relevant engineering solutions to optimize container utilization and reduce costs 
  • Assessing vendor manufacturing capabilities for products, develop risk mitigation strategies by formulating processes to ensure quality standards are maintained for auxiliary procured goods
  • Statistical root cause analysis of process inefficiencies using lean six sigma methodologies
  • Developing specifications for projects and implementation of technical solutions to improve supply chain visibility from production to customer delivery
  • Managing project workforce and planning delivery timelines for equipment to minimize project costs
  • Budgeting and financial analysis for projects
  • Monthly reporting, including cost and other

About you

You will have:

  • Degree or Masters in mechanical engineering
  • Knowledge of project management frameworks and methodology  
  • Experience in supply chain
  • Experience using SAP/SAP BW, Auto CAD and Pro E
  • Experience using project management tools and managing end-to-end projects 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Project) 
  • Proficiency with Minitab, Auto Cad, Pro E, R, and Python
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong Leadership skills and commitment to team development
  • Team orientated focus
