About the role
This unique role is responsible for the creation of processes, procedures and the framework to ensure timely, prudent and commercially robust acquisition of land and easements across both Tasmania and Victoria is achieved. The role will also ensure that acquired properties are managed with project objectives and commercial outcomes in mind. Responsible for project management of the land and easement acquisition program, the role will drive contract and budget management of supporting consultancies, including valuation services. Effectively maintaining clarity of scope and expectations including budget, timeframe, technical and quality standards will lead to delivery of objectives in close consultation with leadership and broader project team.
About the Business
At TasNetworks, we own, operate and maintain the electricity transmission and distribution networks in Tasmania, together with a supporting telecommunications network. We deliver a safe, cost-effective and reliable electricity supply to more than 285,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers in Tasmania. We also provide a connection to the Basslink undersea interconnector, and our network supports energy supply to customers in the broader National Electricity Market.
The National Electricity Market is transforming as new energy generation infrastructure replaces ageing infrastructure. Marinus Link and supporting transmission developments can support this transition by providing access to a low-cost, clean and reliable energy supply for customers.
Marinus Link is a proposed 1500 megawatt capacity undersea and underground electricity interconnection to more strongly link the Tasmanian and Victorian transmission networks, enabled by transmission developments in North West Tasmania. Marinus Link will also strengthen telecommunications service provision across Bass Strait. Marinus Link and supporting transmission developments can play a key role in Australias future electricity grid, as the largest proposed infrastructure project in Tasmanias history.
As an expert in your field, you will bring to the role experience of property law and/or knowledge of property acquisition process. Strong commercial skills in property transaction management and negotiation together with the ability to work creatively in a fast paced environment will lead to achieving successful outcomes. Your demonstrated ability to influence, build rapport and trusting relationships will enable you to drive results through people. Experience in the renewable energy industry or major linear infrastructure development will be highly regarded.
