External Sales Representative / Estimator

Wilmot Engineering is a multi-faceted engineering business that has generated significant growth in recent years and has a clearly defined strategy for significant expansion and diversification.  Located in Kalgoorlie-Boulder, the company offers services in fabrication/welding, machining, mechanical fitting, boiler making, labour hire and associated services primarily to the mining and industrial sectors throughout Australia.

The company is now seeking a suitably qualified and experienced External Sales Representative / Estimator who will assist in driving the continuing expansion of the organization.  This is a salaried position and is available for immediate start for the right candidate.

This is a challenging and diverse role that requires you to be flexible, able to work under pressure and balance numerous tasks at once. Your strengths and experience will be in the ability to work hands-on, plan, prioritise work and manage both clients and colleagues. It is perfect for someone looking for a dynamic work environment.

Primary duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Actively seek new opportunities with current and new clients primarily through face-to-face meetings
  • Regularly visit clients to maintain relationships and scope out and quote potential opportunities for Wilmot Engineering
  • Develop thorough understanding of clients needs and requirements
  • Assist with larger tenders to provide quotes for incoming and potential works
  • Regularly canvas for new business opportunities and educate clients on Wilmot Engineerings capabilities.
  • Frequent, regular travel throughout the greater Goldfields region is required.

Key Skills and Experience Required:

  • Australian recognized trade certificate or substantial, relevant industry sales experience in a mining or industrial setting.
  • Extensive network of industry contacts and good knowledge of Goldfields region and mine sites
  • Unrestricted, current and valid Australian Drivers Licence
  • High level organisation and time management with excellent attention to detail
  • Effective communications skills both written, verbal and interpersonal
  • Clean alcohol and drug profile and unrestricted ability to access mine sites
  • Ability to manage stress and pressure well and to achieve deadlines
  • Self-starter with a keen eye for job opportunities
  • Be self-motivated and eager to succeed in a competitive market
  • Excellent computer literacy skills particularly with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Be a problem solver with a solution focused outlook
