This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial financial adviser to establish, manage and lead a new Australian financial planning arm for this global business in the Melbourne CBD.
The Company Our client is an established and a growing global wealth manager with over $1 billion in Assets Under Management, and have offices in the UK, Middle East, and Africa. They have numerous Australian clients and are looking to establish and rapidly grow an office in Australia to service these client’s financial planning needs.
The Opportunity The business is looking to employ someone as their Australian representative to establish and grow their Australian business with the view to becoming the Regional Director. They are offering a sizable equity stake in the business as part of the remuneration package that will grow with each year in the role.
You will be responsible for the initial set up and will be running all day-to-day functions of the Australian business as it grows.
Some of the key responsibilities of the role will include:
Developing the business from the ground up with financial support from the international business including establishing their AFSL, systems and processes;
Assisting in developing and implementing the company’s strategy for the Australian business;
Managing and cultivating your own client base utilising warm leads from the business’ current Australian clients (including HNW clients);
Working autonomously to make decisions regarding the structure of the business;
Hiring additional staff as the business grows;
Being the responsible manager (RG105) for the Australian business; and
Establishing and maintaining compliance policies in line with ASIC requirements.
The Candidate The successful candidate will have:
5+ years’ experience as a financial adviser providing wholistic advice;
Meet the current FASEA standards to work as a financial adviser;
Be able to advise on Self-Managed Super Fund’s (SMSF) (required);
The ability to develop own client book from warm leads;
Demonstrated experience in setting up and running financial planning operations;
Deep technical knowledge across compliance and multiple financial planning strategies including investments, superannuation, pension, estate planning, and risk insurance;
The ability to lead and manage a team as the business grows; and
Desire to have the freedom to develop a financial planning business with the backing of a global wealth manager.
