Product Specialist

About the Role

Reporting into the General Manager Commercial, the Product Specialist is responsible for gaining a deep understanding of customer requirements, identify and fill product gaps and generate new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience, and drive growth.

The primary focus of the Product Specialist is to work with the GM Commercial and Sales and Service teams to analyse market opportunities, develop and introduce new product lines and maximise the performance of existing product lines. The Product Specialist will have experience in product development, a proven track record of successfully managing the life cycle of a portfolio of products, demonstrated experience in developing new products, market analysis and excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Key Responsibilities Include;

  • Developing product pricing models and product positioning strategies
  • Working closely with BDMs, Field Sales, Branches and Customer Service teams to ensure that customer product needs are met
  • Developing and maintain strong relationships with product suppliers
  • Conducting market analysis of product range and competitor activity
  • Assisting with the development of product collateral, data sheets and product training across the organisation
  • Developing  launches and promotional plans working with sales and marketing teams
  • Forecasting inventory requirements to ensure that customer requirements are met and inventory levels are managed within guidelines.
