Project Engineer

Kalium Lakes Potash, an emerging Sulphate of Potash producer, is seeking an experienced Project Engineer (Contract, Full-time, Site based role - 2:1 roster) to work with our expanding project delivery team at our Beyondie Sulphate of Potash Project, located South of Newman, Western Australia. 

As a first of its kind project in Australia, this is a challenging role requiring high attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure and autonomously. 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • An overriding commitment to health, safety in all activities and encouraging others to comply with the Group Policies and Procedures;
  • Effective and efficient management of a project whether it be in Engineering, Contracts Administration, Cost Control, Quality Monitoring, Procurement and Logistics;
  • Development and implementation of project-specific processes and procedures;
  • Providing field support for engineering and design, construction and commissioning, and operations;
  • Assist with schedule development;
  • Measurement and reporting of progress;
  • Contracts administration including progress claim and variation assessments;
  • Preparation of a daily report, and contributions to project weekly and monthly reports;
  • Be involved in risk reviews and risk management activities;
  • Liaise with engineering and vendors, including for the prompt resolution of site raised technical queries and requests for information;
  • Field quality control, including material receival inspections, implementation of inspection & test plans, documentation review and approval, non-conformance reporting, punch listing and as-builts;
  • Update and maintain deliverables list for each active area of the project;
  • Support the progressive commissioning of project elements, and handover to operations;
  • Support capital and operating cost estimations; and
  • Provide thorough handover to delegated personnel before rostered leave

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications, experience and attributes:

  • Degree qualified in Engineering with at least 5 years  relevant industry experience.
  • High level user of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically the data manipulation and graphing presentation abilities of MS Excel.
  • Analytical approach to examining data.
  • Superior level report writing and presentation skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to proactively engage and communicate with, and influence internal and external stakeholders at all management levels.
  • Ability to handle multiple complex tasks and activities with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and in high pressure environments and assist others to do
