About the Company:

WA Waterjet is a part of our parent company Beyond Custom, a high-end custom automotive shop in Bullsbrook. We are looking to expand our customer base by offering waterjet cutting services not only to those in the automotive industry, but a range of businesses and consumers in the northern corridor. We have recently purchased a state-of-the-art 5-axis waterjet cutting machine and plan to purchase a CNC machine in the near future. Our premises are well equipped with a range of cutting/welding machines/tools and comfortable amenities, including a fully equipped kitchen.  We are family owned and run; work hard and enjoy a laugh so a positive personality is a must.

 

The position:

We require a waterjet machine operator for our busy workshop based in Bullsbrook. We are looking for someone that loves to create quality components and pays strong attention to detail. You will be required to independently program, setup and operate the waterjet cutter (some initial training can be provided) and CNC machine as well as liaison with customers about their requirements.

Initially the successful candidate will join the team on on-hired employee working Monday-Friday 9-5pm in an ongoing casual role. The opportunity will exist for the right person to move into a permanent long-term role after a successful 3-month contract.

 

Minimal duties will include:

  • Waterjet cutter programming & operating
  • Understanding drawings & using CAD files
  • Operating overhead crane gantry system and hydraulic loading platform
  • Operating auto abrasive feeding system & feeding hopper
  • Servicing and cleaning waterjet cutting machine (using sludge removal system)
  • CNC machine programming & operating
  • Quote and liaison with customers as needed

 

Skills required:

  • Must have waterjet cutter experience in a range of materials (i.e., glass, stone, metal etc)
  • Must have ability to program, setup and operate 5-axis waterjet cutter
  • CNC machine operation experience is highly desirable
  • A current forklift licence (or can get one)
  • Mechanical aptitude is advantageous
  • Physically fit and able to lift
  • Sound knowledge of computers
  • Organised and methodical
  • Able to work in a small team
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Have a can do and positive attitude.
