Safety and Quality Manager Hardy Aviation


Expressions of interest are sought for the position of Safety and Quality Manager for Hardy Aviation.

Based in Darwin NT, Hardy Aviation is a large GA company with a fleet of close to 30 aircraft and charter and RPT operations throughout the NT and beyond.

The Safety and Quality manager reports to the CEO and is responsible for management of all aspects of the Safety and Quality Management Systems. The manager works closely with the Chief Pilot, CAM, Engineering Manager and Operations Manager and is accessible to all staff.

The position is permanent and full time. The salary offered will be competitive and commensurate with experience.



  • Has attained Lead Auditor accreditation;
  • Formal training in SMS;
  • Formal training in Workplace Training and Assessment (Cert IV in TAA or similar);
  • Preferably Cert IV or above in OHS and Workplace Training and Assessment.
  • Training in Human Factors and Non-Technical Skills;
  • Training in Accident and incident investigation.


Experience required includes:

  • Broad experience in Aviation or a similar field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the regulations (including MOS and CASR Parts 42 and 145);
  • Proven experience (at least two years) in the development, implementation, management, operation and maintenance of a Safety and Quality Management System and activities;
  • Sound knowledge of Quality and Safety management principles and practices;


Responsibilities include:

  • The planning, conducting, recording and reporting of the Company's quality and safety audit program. Assist external auditors.
  • The ongoing maintenance, management, review and revision of the quality and safety management system including the production and amendment of safety procedures and documentation.
  • Providing timely advice and assistance on safety matters to staff & managers.
  • Administering an internal safety reporting system for incidents and hazards.
  • Carrying out safety investigations where required.
  • Ensuring safety training and education is provided to staff and records of completion are maintained.
  • Managing the company Human Factors and Non-technical skills training program
