Food Warehouse Stock Controller - Immediate Start

Summary of the Job

The Food Warehouse Stock Controller is responsible for a wide range of various warehouse activities including; receiving food and food-related products, racking storage, maintaining warehouse stock and inventory management, forecasting and demand planning, coordinating volunteers, adhering to WHS policies and maintaining a safe work environment.

Specifically, this role involves:

  • Receipting of goods/deliveries and data passed to various departments (physically or via electronic entry)
  • Temperature checking of chilled goods and data passed to various departments (physically or via electronic entry)
  • Receipting of Gift in Kind (GIK) donations from the public and data passed to various departments (physically or via electronic entry)
  • Stock Control maintained accurately by close of business each day
  • Forward planning of volunteer requirements with the Volunteer Coordination Department and coordination of volunteers of warehouse tasks when they attend
  • Food parcel planning and assembly management including forward planning acquisition of required items and coordination of resources to ensure adequate stock on hand including entry into stock control system
  • Warehouse logistics including ensuring the structure and materials are fit for purpose
  • Onsite event logistics support including key support over the Christmas period
  • Management reporting
  • Kitchen support

Inventory system management:

     Transfer prior days closing stock report to opening stock

     Enter all deliveries into receiving stock data

     Following weekend, enter all stock used by chef from the cool room

  • Transfer data from invoices into system
  • Complete Gift in Kind donations paperwork and deliver to food services

 

The successful applicant will have:

  • Work experience as a Warehouse Manager for 5+ years
  • Experience with receiving goods
  • Planning, production and inventory management experience
  • Forklift or walkie stacker experience
  • Proficient knowledge of warehouse procedure and policy
  • Excel or similar stock control management system
  • Ability to engage in frequent manual lifting of goods
  • Experience working in a cool-room environment
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services
  • Engaging personality to communicate with volunteers as well as members of our community who may be homeless, vulnerable and in need
  • Full, clean, driving licence.
