Manufacturing Manager IXL Metal Castings

As a result of the retirement of the current manager, a long standing and successful Australian family owned metal casting business requires the services of an experienced and enthusiastic Manufacturing Manager. The successful person will preferably have experience in jobbing shop manufacture and low to medium volume production systems. Reporting to the General Manager the role will be responsible for leading the manufacturing operation and a highly skilled production team by delivering our customer driven principle where Innovation & Collaboration = A Successful Solution.
Key aspects of the Role include but are not limited to:
Leading and fostering a safety-first culture.
Maintaining, implementing and continually improving safety performance, policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Overseeing the effective management, documentation and control of all environmental considerations and ensuring relations with the EPA are maintained at a high level.
Planning and scheduling production work orders to meet customer requirements and business objectives.
Driving improvements, efficiencies and productivity to continually review manufacturing operating processes in line with organisational objectives. Implementing sustainable strategies and standardised processes to ensure manufacturing best practice.
Full responsibility for all manufacturing facilities and tooling. Includes overall plant & equipment effectiveness, maintenance schedules and facility planning and upgrade projects.
Responsibility for manufacturing labour planning and cost budget management. Regular reporting on operational performance to set KPIs. Managing incoming stock quality, inventory and waste to control and meet cost targets.
The Person experience/technical
10+ years' experience in a management role within a diverse manufacturing jobbing shop environment and low to medium volume production systems.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering, manufacturing and/or related discipline.
High level of understanding of manufacturing (particularly in a jobbing shop environment), production planning, estimating and bills of material processes.
Experience in compliance and OHS knowledge.
Experience in maintaining ISO accredited QA and Environmental systems.
