Collections Officer

George Laurens is a market leading Mercantile Agency providing Debt Collection, Litigation and Field Services throughout Australia and as a result of our continued growth a new role has been created and we now require the services of an additional collector to join our team.

The Role:

As a Collections Officer you will be responsible for managing and maintaining a delinquent account portfolio.

  • Assist in maintaining a large loan portfolio;
  • Placing direct phone calls and E-mails to customers that are 120+ days past due;
  • Actioning of accounts in a timely and proficient manner to maximise recovery results;
  • Assess and understand customers financial situation to establish what Financial Hardship Assistance is required to provide the best solution to resolve debt;
  • Negotiating payment arrangements in line with business guidelines; 
  • Complying with internal and external regulatory requirements at all times;
  • Ensuring that recovery targets are met both individually and as a team.

Do you possess the following skills and attributes.

  • proven accounts receivable experience;
  • assertive personality with strong negotiation skills;
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • self-motivated and strive for excellence; and
  • ability to work autonomously and as part of a close knit team.

This is a full time position Monday to Friday [Saturday's as required] with immediate start for the right person. A 3 month probation period applies.
