Minds & Hearts is a private clinic based in West End, Brisbane. Minds & Hearts comprises a team dedicated to the well-being of people who have, or are affected by, developmental disability, particularly Aspergers syndrome or autism. We provide a range of psychological and allied health services to the community. These services include assessments, individual and group therapy, school visits as well as education and training events.

 

About the role

An exciting opportunity exists to join the Minds & Hearts team. We are looking for a part-time bookkeeper who is warm, organised and enthusiastic to work in this busy clinic. The role is a six-month contract, the applicant must have previous bookkeeping experience and be able to work remotely. The successful applicant would be available to start in July.

 

Your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • General bookkeeping duties including Bank Reconciliations, Aged Payable and Receivable, Payroll processing and Contractor Invoices, PAYG and quarterly Superannuation payments.
  • Monthly Debtors/Sending out weekly/monthly statements to clients
  • Liaising with customers and suppliers and resolving queries by telephone and email
  • Weekly financial reporting to Directors
  • EOM procedures in Xero
  • Data entry, updating excel spreadsheets and other related duties as required
  • Will be trained to utilise in-house database

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A minimum of 2 years experience in similar role/ Bookkeeping experience is required
  • Strong computer skills and experience in a standalone bookkeeping role using Xero
  • Intermediate Xero accounting software experience is mandatory
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong initiative and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team
  • Strong work ethic

 

The bookkeeper will follow policy and procedures developed and practiced in the clinic. The successful candidate will need to have an understanding of client confidentiality.
