Destination Southern Tasmania (DST) is the Regional Tourism Organisation (RTO) for Southern Tasmania, covering 11 local government areas. We are responsible for marketing, industry development, and advocacy for the Southern Tasmanian tourism industry.
DST is currently looking to fill a 6-month casual, maternity cover, contract.
The role of Digital content officer is integral to delivering DSTs marketing strategy. It works directly with the Marketing Manager, and is integral to the team, to ensure DST is a strong, innovative and sustainable regional tourism organisation (RTO).
This role is primarily responsible for being the voice and tone of DSTs consumer channels and responsible for social media marketing and content production. This role will work to enhance DSTs marketing activities and deliver value to members through our marketing activities. The role will be responsible for writing, developing, and delivering blogs and social media through DSTs consumer channels, as well as for other brands DST manages (Southern Trove and Heritage Highway). It will implement the content management program for the organisation to reflect the diversity of southern Tasmanias tourism offering and DSTs membership base.
The role will work closely with the marketing manager to support government (local and state), members and corporate partners for the betterment of DSTs reputation and commercial position and the success of the Tasmanian tourism industry.
Key Selection Criteria
A strong understanding of the regional tourism offering in Southern Tasmania
Demonstrated ability to maintain a voice and tone across multiple social media streams
Demonstrated ability to moderate social media commentary with calm
Ability to work autonomously and a capacity to make decisions with or without the direct guidance of a supervisor.
Capacity to manage multiple projects within budget and timelines
Minimum of three years experience in the tourism or events and marketing sector
Demonstrated experience in implementing marketing and communications strategies, including but not limited to the use of social media, blogs and campaigns
Demonstrated ability to deliver high performing blogs and social media strategies
Demonstrated ability to work in a small team environment
Knowledge of database systems and reporting tools
Demonstrated understanding of online systems and capacity to pick up new software related to social media and website (Wordpress)
