About the Role

We are currently looking for an experienced HR Recruitment Officer to co-ordinate AbbaCares full cycle recruitment process.

The HR Recruitment Officer will be responsible to facilitate recruitment, selection and induction processes for all employees across all AbbaCare sites. The position will also support the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems.

The position will be required to travel regularly between Townsville and Cairns and future AbbaCare office locations within Queensland.

Role Responsibilities

  • Facilitate recruitment, selection and induction processes for all AbbaCare offices
  • Liaise ongoing with Hiring Managers and Service Delivery to identify future recruitment needs and requirements
  • Develop/ update job descriptions for identified positions
  • Develop job vacancy advertisements
  • Source candidates through databases and social media
  • Short list potential candidates and provide list to hiring managers
  • Conduct phone interviews and in person/ group interviews
  • Complete background checks
  • Monitor key HR recruitment metrics
  • Prepare employment paperwork and complete associated paperwork and filing
  • Facilitate on-boarding processes for all new employees; create and implement effective on-boarding plans
  • Facilitate induction programs
  • Carry out induction training and refresher training on Company and HR specific policy ongoing
  • Support the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems
  • Travel to Cairns and other AbbaCare office locations regularly to provide HR recruitment and generalist support
  • Maintain employee records according to policy and legal requirements
  • Support day to day administration functions of the HR department

Qualifications/ Experience

Essential Criteria:

  • Proven work experience as an HR Recruiter or similar role
  • Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems and resume databases
  • Experience with sourcing techniques
  • Knowledge of HR functions (pay & benefits, recruitment, training & development etc.)
  • Understanding of labour laws and disciplinary procedures
  • Proficient in MS Office; knowledge of human resource management system (HRMS) is a plus
  • Outstanding organizational and time-management abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Problem-solving and decision-making aptitude
  • Strong ethics and reliability
  • Minimum Certificate IV in Human Resources or similar, and/ or equivalent demonstrated experience
  • Be able to manage time and awareness of fatigue

Desirable Criteria:

  • Knowledge of and experience in the disability, allied health or welfare fields
  • BSc in business administration, human resource management or relevant field desirable

Successful candidates will be required to provide

Ability to obtain positive notice in the Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and Criminal History Screening (Yellow Card)

Current Immunisations (Hep B, Flu, Whooping Cough)

Queensland Provisional Green or above Drivers License
