Sydney Flight College is part of Schofields Flying Club P/L, we also operate as Sydney Flight Charter and Sydney Flying Club. In continuous operation for over fifty years we one of Australias largest aviation colleges and Sydneys largest flying club. We operate a fleet of over 40 aircraft and conduct training from RPL through to CPL with ME CIR. 

Job Description

The AHAAMC will assist the HAAMC on ensuring the continuing airworthiness and maintenance control of all aircraft operated by Sydney Flight College, Sydney Flight Charter and Sydney Flying Club.

The AHAAMC, is expected to provide feedback and advice regarding maintenance issues to the HAAMC and CEO and any third party maintaining SFC operated aircraft.

The AHAAMC must keep up with changes to, understand and comprehend aviation legislation as it applies to aircraft continuing airworthiness. The AHAAMC must also comply with, and actively promote the safety policies and procedures of the company.


  • Liaison with Maintenance organisations to ensure Compliance of all company Aircraft in respect of maintenance and airworthiness standards, to both legislated and industry best practice
  • Act as a relationship manager between SFC and all maintenance providers utilised and aircraft owners for crosshired aircraft
  • Works with HAAMC and various Maintenance organisations to ensure SFCs maintenance needs are continually met in a timely manner.
  • Aircraft trend and condition monitoring
  • Follow up maintenance issues and reporting of defects.
  • Manages and plans maintenance activities.
  • Drives implemented systems and procedures to ensure aircraft offline times are reduced
  • Manages and advises on fleet rejuvenation and aircraft restoration programs for the SFC fleet
  • Works actively with the Flight Operations Team, HAAMC and support staff to ensure that periodic aircraft maintenance is completed within SFCs planned schedule in accordance with our requirements.
  • Demonstrates commitment to continuous improvement strategies.
  • All requirements as mandated by the Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) for the possible upgrade to the HAAMC role in the future.


  • Meets CASAs minimas and approval for the position
  • Licenced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer or have considerable experience in Maintenance Control or Maintenance Planning
  • Demonstrated management, leadership experience appropriate to the position,
  • Excellent computer experience proficiency with maintenance tracking data bases and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent organisational skills
