Heavy Vehicle Workshop Manager

An exciting opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic, organised and conversable person to join the Head Office division of our Truck Art Group. 

The Company

  • Well Respected Family Company, operating for over 30 years 
  • Specialising in the Heavy Vehicle Transport Industry
  • Divisions in Wagga, Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide (you will only be responsible for Wagga)
  • Diverse range of services including, but not limited to Smash Repair, Spray Painting, Sand Blasting, Sleeper Cab Fitment and Sleeper Cab Air Conditioning Installing.

 

Your Role

  • Reporting directly to the Business Owner/Director
  • Overseeing the entire workshop and supervising the existing team
  • Plan, prioritise and allocate work/jobs daily
  • Maintain QA/QC practices and standards
  • Maintenance of workshop equipment
  • Previous supervision/management experience
  • Job Workshop Development (research for any new plant equipment/relocation of plant and equipment and general Tracking (progress, parts and times)
  • Assistance with Estimating when required
  • Quality Control and management
  • Safety and Standards reviewing/maintaining/implementing safety policies and procedures and ensuring all personnel are complying with the latest safety policies and procedures (you will have assistance with this)
  • Confidently liaison with clients
  • Ensuring timely sign off for all completed jobs/projects
  • Invoicing duties
  • Maintaining Financials job profit and loss reporting/accountabilities
  • Maintain professional at all times and provide a clear and orderly work environment
  • Hands on may be required from time to time to assist in training and getting jobs out on time.

 

Skills and Experience

  • Trade Background essential (Mechanic, Panel Beater, Welder)
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to successfully guide a team of varied trade personnel
  • Excellent Communicator/Negotiator with the ability to quickly develop and maintain professional internal and external working relationships
  • Heavy Vehicle industry knowledge desirable
  • Job Cost Control experience
  • IT Literate MS Word / MS Excel, MS Office essential
  • MYOB experience desirable but not essential
  • Heavy Vehicle licence or willing to obtain in the first 6 months of employment.
