Yarra Plenty Regional Library is an innovative, flexible and industry leading public library service operating across Banyule, Nillumbik and Whittlesea Councils. We make a difference to our communities through each of our 160 staff, 160 volunteers, 9 library branches and 2 mobile library services.
About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an adaptable and passionate individual to step in as Branch Manager at Lalor Library where you will manage the Lalor branch and team to deliver relevant and customised services and programs to the community.
The Branch Manager is responsible for ensuring quality library services by leading and motivating their branch team and managing the day to day operations to develop informed, connected, inclusive communities. As Branch Manager you will:
- Provide leadership to ensure a high standard of customer service at the Branch
- Develop relationships with local community organisations and individuals to promote the use of the library
- Ensure application of Customer Service Guidelines
- Manage the resolution of complex issues relating to customers
- Ensure the development, delivery and evaluation of a range of core programs and services
You are highly motivated and proactive leader, with a strong interest in utilising and developing your management skills. Being a Branch Manager requires a flexible approach and the ability to lead, motivate and develop staff with strong persuasion and influencing skills. As part of YPRL's Leadership Team, Branch Managers deliver initiative, accountability and customer service every day, as they go above and beyond for our customers and colleagues. The successful incumbent will also be able to demonstrate their capacity to build strong, productive networks and maintain professional relationships with people at all levels. Tertiary qualifications in Library and Information Management or experience supervising or managing staff is highly desirable.
The flexibility to work across the region and some evening and weekend work may be required.
