Mansfield Golf Club, an equal opportunity employer, is looking for an experienced General Manager to manage the Club operations.
Mansfield is a thriving, picturesque community located near Mt Buller and Lake Eildon. It is situated in Victoria's north east, 200km from Melbourne on the Maroondah Hwy. It offers all the facilities needed to comfortably live in a regional town. The town also supports thousands of tourists every year as they embark on snow and water skiing, boating, fishing, hiking, camping, bike and horse riding and 4WD activities to name just a few.
Mansfield Golf Club has a long history and is a quality services-based organisation. Services include an excellent 18-hole golf course, bar facilities, restaurant and electronic gaming. The Club also has plans in place to provide more extensive facilities for functions, conferences, weddings and the like. The Club, a not-for-profit organisation is in an excellent financial position with revenue exceeding $2m per annum. The Board of Management is determined to maintain this position and improve and grow our service offerings to members, guests and visitors.
The General Manager will report to the Club President and will manage direct reports representing Golf, Greens, Bar and Gaming and Catering departments.
The General Manager will be responsible for the management and oversight of the following key reporting areas:
Provide innovative and inspiring leadership to ensure best practice initiatives and member and guest expectations are met by all onsite team members.
Provide advice and assistance in evolving and implementing the strategic plan. Advise on current performance and identify any major issues and opportunities for improvement. Challenge existing processes and bring new ideas forward for discussion and review.
A strong focus on an effective communication strategy taking an active role in implementing marketing and PR initiatives.
Financial Management of all aspects of day to day Club operations, budgeting and reporting including a progressive analysis of re-forecasting as required by the Board of Management.
Governance including advice, development, implementation and compliance with policy, procedures, reporting and Club constitution.
Act in the role of Club Secretary ensuring compliance with all requirements of Corporations Law.
Contract management of all suppliers and contractors, including contract negotiation and contract review.
Management of all WHS regulations and issues and general health and safety of staff, members, guests and visitors.
HR management including hiring, delegation, skills and training, team work, rostering and payroll, awards management, performance reviews and staff development planning.
Management of all aspects of electronic gaming facilities including compliance with all statutory requirements and regulations.
Management of all aspects of bar and catering facilities including compliance with all statutory requirements and regulations.
Key Selection Criteria
Qualifications and Experience
Degree in a Hospitality related discipline and five years' experience as GM or assistant GM in a club related environment or a demonstrable equivalent combination of education and experience
Australia citizen or valid Australia Visa holder
Financial background and knowledge of corporate accountancy requirements and IT systems
Current knowledge of employment laws and awards
Demonstrable experience in HR and staff management
Must be able to meet all Victorian Commission for Gaming and Licensing Regulations (VCGLR) requirements including Police, ASICS and Credit checks
A proven track record of successful experience in people, assets and facilities management is essential

An excellent salary package in the range $100,000 - $120,000 based on experience is offered to the right candidate.
