Due to increased growth, an opportunity currently exists for an experienced Tekla Steel Designer to join their dedicated design team. Reporting to their Pre-Construction Manager, this role will see you responsible for the drafting of detailed drawings for the production and installation of steel framed structures.

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role
  • Ability to produce high quality drawings using Tekla Structure Software
  • Relevant formal qualifications in Engineering or Drafting (Preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of steel structures used in industrial and commercial applications.
  • Ability to understand and work with construction programs
  • High attention to detail and levels of accuracy
  • Good communication skills and ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders
  • Sense of urgency & ability to deliver projects to expected timelines
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent document control skills
  • Computer literacy

Responsibilities of this position will include:

  • Preparing detailed and high quality and error free 3D drawings for the production and installation of steel structures using Tekla Structure
  • Complying with Building Codes, industry standards, and company policies in all actions
  • Liaising with engineers, clients, and other internal stakeholders effectively
  • Saving and manage the control of drawings and associated documentation
  • Resolving technical queries and problem solving
  • Liaising with the wider design / Construction team to ensure workflow efficiencies are identified and implemented.
  • Managing and raising RFIs as required
