About the College 

St Augustine's College - Sydneyis a Catholic Congregational school for boys in Years 5 to 12, teaching the Augustinian values of Truth, Love and Community. The College has a strong academic tradition and commitment to pastoral care. 

The College is seeking a Payroll Officer with experience in iChris who will be responsible for managing the fortnightly pay cycle for approximately 200 employees.

Approximately 25 hours per week with some flexibility on how the hours are structured.

Your responsibilities willinclude: 

  • Full management of fortnightly pay-cycle for approximately 200 staff (including casuals)
  • Administer changes e.g. rate changes, hours, allowances, deductions, etc.
  • Administer the Employee Self Service functionality including leave processing
  • Process statutory requirements: single touch payroll reporting, PAYG and Union Fee 
  • Review and apply Enterprise Agreements and Award variations
  • Reconcile payroll fortnightly and prepare necessary journal entries
  • Process and reconcile Paid Parental Leave
  • Ensure necessary superannuation records are maintained, payments made on time and records reconciled
  • Produce payroll reports including: Costing Report, Payroll Journals and Reconciliation, Leave Liability reconciliations, Headcount, and other special reports as requested
  • Complete the implementation of iChris Payroll module and contribute to the implementation of other iChris modules. 

To be successful in the role you will have: 

  • Solid experience in iChris (required)
  • Experience in processing a medium size payroll end to end
  • Strong attention to detail and highly organised
  • Analytical mindset and knowledge of payroll accounting
  • Education industry payroll experience would be highly regarded
  • Current Working with Children Check Clearance is mandatory
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong MS Office capability, in particular, Excel
  • Customer service focus
  • Accounting knowledge and experience will be an advantage
