Operations Supervisor - Margooya Orchard

Aroona Farms is one of Australias largest almond growers managing orchards in the Sunraysia and Riverland regions.

This role is an integral part of the orchard operations that ensures yield optimisation through sustainable growth of almond trees.

You will be an energetic and experienced team player with excellent interpersonal skills to guide a diverse group of field workers. Working together with the orchard manager you will be responsible for effective utilisation of resources and supervision of field workers to achieve the desired operational outcomes. Developing the field workers ability to safely undertake their duties is one of the key requirements of the role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day to day operations with a very high standard of Work Health and Safety awareness
  • Provide leadership, guidance and direction to field staff to ensure all daily operational activities are carried out to meet the established schedules and standards
  • Take responsibility for the implementation and management of the foliar and herbicide programmes to achieve the desired outcome.
  • Collaborate with Orchard Management to monitor and identify tree health, pests and diseases and take actions to mitigate the negative impact on yield
  • Liaise with Maintenance Supervisor to ensure orchard machinery is in excellent working condition to support the field staff to optimise their performance.
  • Assist in the planning, implementation and recording of all aspects of Harvest
  • Complete purchase orders and goods receipt process in a competent and compliant manner
  • Build and maintain a sound relationship with employees, labour hire workers and contractors 

The Ideal candidate will have:

  • 3 + years experience working within a large-scale orchard environment, preferably in a supervisors role  
  • Excellent interpersonal and time management skills
  • Drivers licence
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
  • Good organisational and problem-solving skills
  •  Good computer skills

The ideal candidate will be required to reside in Robinvale area
