Territory Sales Manager

We are a key supplier to both the Retail Home Improvement and Rural Merchandise markets.

We are looking for a dynamic person to join our team in the role of Territory Sales Manager. The position reports directly to National Sales Manager and is responsible for targeting business and growing rural fencing and hardware sales in the Southern QLD / Northern NSW region as well as looking for opportunities to develop our existing business.

You will be an experienced sales manager, with a strong understanding of the rural sales market, and will be autonomous in managing your territory & growing sales in the region.

The role is responsible for:

  • Reviewing existing account base to look for gaps and opportunities for business
  • Looking for end user opportunities from the ground up (fencing contractors etc) and influence their decision making
  • Attending field days, trade shows and events, building a profile by networking
  • Growing market share within existing customer base
  • Spending time in store with customers/Product Training
  • Focusing on merchandising opportunities, growing  core ranges
  • Building and maintaining relationships
  • Proactively pre-empting the needs of key customers
  • Developing strong relationships with key accounts
  • Range reviews reviewing ranges regularly throughout the year, to ensure we are adding value to our customers business.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience in sales across the rural retail market
  • Experience in rural fencing sales (desirable, not essential)
  • Strong new business focus & the desire and ability to manage existing accounts successfully
  • The ability to work autonomously, and make decisions on customer outcomes
  • Availability to travel within the region (up to 50% of the time in role)
