Reporting to the National Marketing Manager, and working in a proactive marketing team, as Segment Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for the Trade customer segment as it relates to driving the companies national strategy (input and implementation) and future growth. This is a highly visible role, where you will be out in the field gathering data, analysing, profiling, and identifying customer opportunities. By gaining a true understanding of Electrical Contractors, as well as Specifiers (Architects, Designers, Electrical Engineers) you will be able to engage more effectively with this Segment - by providing a more targeted approach to improve customer loyalty and satisfaction in order to achieve the companys sales and profit plans. You will work alongside the companys sales team assisting in the promotion of the companys products and services as well as collaborating and influencing senior leaders and cross functional partners. In fact 50% of your time will likely be in the field.
To summarise, your responsibilities will include: research, data and analysis, working on marketing campaigns and programs [including creating content] - using different mediums to engage your target customer (face-to-face, surveys, events, industry forums as well as Social Media, CRM, account-based marketing, direct marketing), monitoring competition, reviewing and reporting, in-field customer contact as well as mentoring of the sales team as it relates to this customer segment etc..
You may have tertiary qualifications (Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration or Marketing), and demonstrate experience in Sales / Business Development, Marketing, or Trade Channel management. The ideal executive will also have a background in the Electrical Industry and an understanding of Trade Contractor sales and the Electrical Wholesale market, or a background in the Building / Construction sector (ie HVAC, safety / security, renewables etc). However, you will also: have excellent IT skills, be analytical and numerate, have marketing experience (including social digital marketing exp), be highly literate, and able to communicate, negotiate and influence at all levels, be well organized, able to multi-task and project manage, be professional, passionate, and energetic, and love being an Ambassador in this very customer focused role.
