This will include preparing accounting journals and analysis to support the Groups consolidation process, taking ownership for a component of the Group result including understanding the business and accounting requirements, preparing all relevant work-papers, reconciliations and analysis in order to ensure accuracy and transparency around the reporting of that component of the Groups result.
Be responsible for completion of defined sections of the annual report, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting requirements.
Liaise with contacts in Group head office and at divisional level to ensure the receipt of timely and accurate information into the consolidation process.
Act as a point of contact with one of the Groups operating divisions or balance sheet areas to ensure that accounting issues and complexities are identified and addressed on a timely basis.
Involvement in various internal or Group-wide projects between reporting periods
Your story so far
A good understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards, Corporations Act and ASX listing rules.
An understanding of financial services industry.
Ability to interact with and clearly communicate with a broad range of stakeholders across a variety of functions (actuarial, underwriting, investments, investor relations etc)
Experience in the preparation of consolidated financial statements is advantageous.
Qualified in a professional services environment (CPA/CA or equivalent experience).
Ability to be flexible and agile while working with other HO teams or divisions on projects and other ad-hoc tasks.
